The price of doing business
Well today, I didn’t put much of anything on the web, except the blog, as you can see here.
It wasn’t for lack of trying. I just couldn’t figure anything out that would be worthwhile to post.
No, that’s not quite right. I could have started another story, or written a Significa column. But I kept on putting those off because, well, I just didn’t feel like them.
Hmmm, I think I may have to reorganize my thinking on that one!
I spoke to Tom today, who recommended using the social media (i.e facebook) to get the word out. I think it’s a good idea, and I started poking around in it. Trouble is, I’m so inexperienced with it, I really didn’t know what to do.
Soooo, realizing I had some time, I went to the bookstore this evening and picked up Facebook for Dummies. While I was there, I also picked up Coding for Dummies, as well as Podcasting for Dummies. I’d been interested in those two things, and believe they will help with getting myself established.
Trouble is, those books were expensive! Cost me over $100 when I left. I tell you, I wonder if other people have to shell out as much as I have in order to get a personal business started!
But as the old saying goes, you have to spend money to make money. I’m hoping that I will soon be able to realize more interest in the website, due to my efforts.
Let’s see. Tom was very supportive when I expressed my doubts to him. He said it happens to everyone, and I suppose it’s true. I just wish I had some crystal ball to guide my steps or something, because I often feel I’m going to go crazy before this is over.
I consider buying the books an honest effort, so there’s no guilt today over having nothing but the blog posted. I just hope that I can make tomorrow more fruitful in the posting department though.
(Drum roll, fanfare, etc. etc.) That’s right folks. The big moment has arrived. Today’s bad joke!
Question: What do you get when you cross a well-endowed female singer with an Inca beast of burden.
